Ida A. Waddell, 98, who had been a resident of St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Hillsboro since 1974, died there Sunday (April 22, 1979) after a long illness. Mrs. Wadell was born in Richland County in 1881, the daughter of Delton and Dora Harris Elmer. She married William Wacker and he preceded her in death in 1961. In 1964 she married Clayton Waddell and he preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Wadell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Brooks of Richland Center and Mrs. Earl (Mary) Huisheere of Darien; three sons, Otto Wacker of Portland, Ore., Robert Wacker of Beloit, and Elmer Wacker of Lone Rock; a sister, Mrs. Mary Morris of Beloit; two brothers, Grant Elmer of Beloit and Gay Elmer of Baraboo; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Picha Funeral Home at Hillsboro with the Revs. Winifred Eastmen, Norma Henderson and David Brown officiating. Burial was in the Valton Cemetery.
