Notes:

Ellen's mother probably died when she was a toddler. It is unclear where her father was in the 1850 census. Her sister, Louisa, was living with their aunt, Esther Markham, in Worcester, Otsego Co., New York on 5 September 1850 when the census was taken. By 1860, Ellen was living in Marion Co., Ohio, with her father, Giles; stepmother, Ruth Cook; sister, Louisa; and cousin, Jay Phillips.

Ellen married Thomas Brady, son of Porter Brady and Paulina Tuttle Brady, in 1864. She gave birth to a daughter, Dora, in 1866 and passed away in 1868 (of causes unknown). Thomas and Dora were living with Thomas' mother in 1870. By 1880, Thomas and Dora are living with Thomas' brother. Thomas never remarried.
